Spring rolls is a good from China. It is believed that Spring rolls is originated from China. Spring rolls is a seasonal food consumed during the spring, started as pancakes filled with the new season spring vegetables. Some story about spring rolls is some say that spring rolls are originated in Vietnam, but spring rolls is from China but Vietnam modified this food and serve them as their food.

Spring rolls is a large variety of filled, rolled appetizer or dim sum found in East Asia, South Asia, Middle Eastern and Southeast Asia cuisine. The name of spring rolls is a translation of Chinese chūn juǎn.

Spring rolls represent?

Spring rolls are usually eaten during the spring festival in China, hence the eating spring rolls is a way to welcome spring season. The eating of spring rolls is showing the arrival of spring in China. The gold bar means the golden wrapper shows the wealth. This is symbolize wealth (gold bar). Chinese people eat spring rolls to welcome spring.

There are two types of roll

  • Spring rolls
  • Egg rolls

Spring rolls

Spring rolls is a fried dish usually available as dim sum. Spring rolls typically contains minced pork, shredded carrots, bean sprouts, and other vegetables like mushrooms, cabbage, onion and some types of sauces. Some time spring rolls does not fry.

Egg rolls

Egg rolls is also same ass spring rolls but egg rolls wrapper is made up of egg and flour. Egg rolls is a fried dish. Same material or same vegetables are used in making spring rolls are commonly used in making of egg rolls. Egg rolls is a deep-fried food. Nowadays egg rolls contains chicken meat or meat.

Spring rolls are healthy?

Yes, spring rolls are healthy food for us, specially if you pack them with full of raw veggies and lean protein. The biggest problem of people from spring rolls about wrapper. Plain flour wrapper contains oil which we used for deep-fried. Spring rolls wrapper have fat and calories. If you used rice paper rather than maida(plain flour) wrapper rice paper has 30-40 calories, it is fewer calories than plain flour tortillas. Rice paper is very cheap to make, you can make nearly 30-35 wrapper in just $3(21rs).

Making of spring rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoon oil.
  • 2 finely chopped garlic cloves.
  • 1 inch (2.54 cm) fine chopped ginger.
  • 1 thinly shredded carrots.
  • 4 chopped spring onion.
  • 1cup (0.24 liters) chopped mushrooms.
  • 1 teaspoon sugar.
  • 2 teaspoon chili sauce.
  • 1 cup (0.24 liters) shredded cabbage.
  • 1 teaspoon soya sauce.
  • 1 teaspoon black paper crushed.
  • 2 teaspoons of vinegar.
  • Salt as needed.
  • 2 teaspoon corn flour.
  • 1 tablespoon maida (white flour/ plain flour).
  • Oil for frying.

Making spring rolls wrappers

  • 3 tablespoon rice flour.
  • 1cup (0.24 liters) water (as needed).
  • Salt as needed.
  • Oil for greasing.

Procedure or steps to make spring rolls

  1. First, add oil, ginger and garlic in a large kadai (pan). Garlic and ginger will be present in chopped form.
  2. Add spring onion that we cut for filling
  3. Sauté them until the raw smell disappears or the color of onion turns into golden.
  4. Then added shredded carrots, cabbage and mushrooms and sure them.
  5. Pour chili sauce, soya sauce in pan and add sugar, salt, black pepper and vinegar.
  6. Mix everything which we added in pan.
  7. Now we are on next stage here we filled the filling(stuffing) that we make, take a wrapper made up of rice flour added stuffing in wrapper.
  8. Then pull and fold over the corner tightly till it reaches half of the sheet.
  9. Do this same ass upper side or lower side.
  10. Fold each side like envelope leaving no air pocket.
  11. Crease and roll further.
  12. Last, apply maida (plain flour) paste around the edges of roll and seal the edges.
  13. Check the temperature of oil if it is 320 degree F, deep-fried the rolls in oil.
  14. Deep-fry until they turned into golden brown.
  15. If they turn golden brown place then on absorbent paper.
  16. Serve them with soya sauce, chili sauce or tomato sauce.
  17. Enjoy the meal(spring rolls).
